Never heard a single minute of music played on one of their machines, but they are works of art.

If you look on the shelf in the shop though, theres a can of good old american WD-40

Work of art for sure. Still $140K Euros for a TT? $300K-$500K system? That will pay for a lot of concert tickets and plane fair to events around the globe. The Hell with analog playback...how about a live set! Could even sway some artist to perform right in your home!

For sure a toy for the ultra wealthy that already jet around the world to listen to live music but desire the best for playback at home.

The thing that always pops into my mind is the image of a customer standing with a saleseman on the showroom floor asking "Now one last time before we ring it up,you swear it sounds twice as good as the 200,000 dollar model?

    That's funny!

Precision German engineering, 4-6 weeks to assemble a 250 Kg (550 lbs--REALLY?) TT--ooohh, and it's ALL handcrafted. Well, I suppose all that makes vinyl jockeys wet their pants and swoon! But, I can't wrap my head around spending so much time and coin on a "friction" riddled medium. Not to say that I don't spin some vinyl, but...there's the absurd and then there is the ridiculous. At least the absurd can be Art, but what about the ridiculous?

Actually, if you kept the TT part off the top you'd have a great PROP for a Captain America film!

If I spend that much on anything other than real estate, it better go really fast and make people drool at the Barrett Jackson auto auctions.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

One of the responses on you tube summed it up pretty good.

he said as long as i can figure out a way to live in it, i might consider it.

BTW, i found this after looking up the VPI nomad, after seeing it in the music direct catalog.

The story of the family company is fascinating, the dad was a big time vinyl guy, and could not afford a good record cleaning machine, so he invented one, and so began a business.

they still only employ about 10 people and struggle very hard to source all parts and assemble their products here in america.

I admire the work but, all though there are many great recordings, great recordings are minuscule in the overall picture. This is even more narrowed in particular genres.

But if I was a multi-millionaire who know what toys I would buy
    2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
Desktop rig: LSi7, Polk 110sub, Dayens Ampino amp, W4S DAC/pre, Sonos, JRiver

Gone to new homes: (Matt Polk's)Threshold Stasis SA12e monoblocks, Pass XA30.5 amp, Usher MD2 speakers, Dynaudio C4 platinum speakers, Modwright LS100 (voltz), Simaudio 780D DAC

It appears that they have different models. The $140K, 550 lbs top of the line includes an aluminum stand with it that is itself a work of art (Artus).

You can level and balance the entire stand. Then it looks like they have "basic" table top versions. Perhaps instead of real-estate they cost only as much as an automobile. Just guessing.
