Has anyone owned or had the chance to hear these? My son has a set (with matching centre) and recently added a Marantz sr7007 avr. They're circa 10 years old or thereabouts. I believe the 2 woofers at the bottom are powered by an internal amp. He had been running them via an old Sony avr. He's more of a movie watcher, plays most of his music from his Mac through Apple tv, though he does have a TT. Anyway, went over to see how his hook up went with the new avr. He's run Audyssey, has 2 small in-ceiling speakers plus a PSB sub for 5.1. The speakers really seem to be labouring from lack of power, would that be a fair assessment? If so, any amp recommendations for this set up? Thanks all...

Have you checked the setting ? The auto calibration doesn't always get it right and speaker levels may be too low.

I did mention that, I agree with you on low levels being a possibility. I found the MCACC on my Pioneer to be accurate for the levels depending on speaker placement, but that everything seemed a bit low across the board.
