Don't know what stores you fellows are frequenting for these nifty audio purchases...but all I'm finding is a lot of old clothes and coffee cups.

Dallas area- thrift stores don't get anything good. Pawn shops used to, but that's stopped over the last couple of years.
There's an army of people scrounging up anything of value for CL and Ebay. So pickings are slim.

No joke about it getting thin out there. One GW in my area carries no electronics at all or lps ,and the other one has stuff thrown all over the place mostly cable boxes and vhs players. Moving and garage sales and of course C/L is where I do most of my shopping for used stuff. Again just today I p/u an audio rack for $20 that's a hundred times better than what I used to have. I posted it in electronics if you want a peek and besides my h/t all other gear was second hand.

I have been giving some thought to the estate sale thing here lately but I work too much to be able to make an appearance.

I have a nephew that works at a pawn shop, nice place, nice people. He has a "must look for" list I gave him. However, if people come in and pay something like $17.00 a month, it can stay in the back room forever. He did call me about a set of "theil's", ran right down to check them out. Some people shoild not be allowed to own sound stuff, they were in horrible shape. Story was some kid got then from his father.

Given what a pawn shop gives people for their stuff, most will either CL or EBAY.
Around here, pawn shops are for the poor and illegals. 10 years ago, there wasn't
that much choice for most needing money in a hurry.
