changed my rack

If you remeber I had what amounted to a self made contempary audio rack that I added shelves to. I saw an ad this morning in C/L and it was for a black lacquer style audio rack for $20. The thing is big and if the pix shows the tt has enough room for the cover to raise all the way. Everything is back together and thanks to me marking all my cables and using bananas when I can makes reinstalling a lot easier. Of course nothing changed sound wise but it sure looks better than my old dust collector. I think it looks good and it came w/ casters already fastened to the base for ease of wiring and is just high enough where I can still get to my house alarm keypad behind it. Oh, there was an ad yesterday for Jensen #6 speakers for free but all 8'' and 15'' surrounds were totally rotted. I was going to give it a try and asked a forumite here if it was worth it and he said stay away they are just big and not all that impressive and what you have already is better. They were gone by the time I tried to say no.....

It appears to be a fully inclosed rack, not the best idea! Especiall for that 555 it should have plenty of air.

It came w/a cardboard backer which I chose not to install for that reason.I've been running it all day and the Adcom is still running as cool to the touch as ever. Thanks for the concern but it's not an issue. If anything the Yamaha RX-V665 needs more air than any device I have and also has been ok all day.

Thats a good idea ( removing the back) heat build up can be an issue.but that should take care of it.

Looks very nice. Big plus to be able to open tt cover & have enough room. That seems to be a big problem with racks

Thanks, it looks wacky w/ that space but it's exactly enough for the cover to open fully. What does anyone with lacquer furniture use to clean the stuff ? Black is nice when clean but in the light you see every smudge and finger print.
