Head Unit Settings and Polk Speakers

I just purchased a Kenwood Excelon CD Player(KDC-X679) and some Polk speakers(DB650s & DB570s). The head unit comes with all sorts of settings for sound adjustment and I was wondering what settings I should use.

Settings:
Bass Center Freq.- 60/70/80/100 or 150Hz
Bass Q Factor- 1.00/1.25/1.50/2.00
Bass Extend- On/Off
Middle Center Freq.- .05/1.0/1.5/2.0kHz
Middle Q Factor- 1.0/2.0
Treble Center Freq.- 10.0/12.5/15.0/17.5kHz

Front High Pass Filter- Through/40/60/80/100/120/150/180/220Hz
Rear High Pass Filter- Through/40/60/80/100/120/150/180/220Hz

The Bass Extend means the low freq. response is extended by 20%

The Frequencies that can be set in Bass Center Freq. change as shown below:

Bass Q factor: Bass Center Freq.:
1.00/1.25/1.50 60/70/80/100
2.00 60/70/80/150

The Db650s are in my front doors and the DB570s are in my rear panels. both sets of speakers are running off of an MTX Thunder6304 AMP.

If anyone can tell me what some good settings would be I would appreciate it or to just give me an idea.

    What type music do you mostly play? I have a kenwood hu too and I have my settings as follows:
    Front crossover at 150
    Rear at 150
    Sub at 80
    Equipment List:
    Head Unit: Kenwood Excelon XXV-005

    Speakers:

    I mainly listen to metal and rock music, with the occasional rap because of my girfriend. Is there any point in messing with these settings if the speakers are hooked up to an amp or does it matter?

    i prefer centers of...

    bass = 100
    mid = 500 hertz (0.5 k)
    trebble = 12.5 k but you've only got 10 and 15, so try both and see which is better for you.

    the rest is all experimentation and taste.

    oh and as far as high pass crossing over... try 40... if it sounds good and they dont distort, go with it... if they distort on the bass, bump her up to 60 hertz and try that... if you dont have a sub, you shouldn't cross it over below 60 or it'll sound cheesy. just dont juice the bass and 40 or 60 should work out for ya.

    i'm a big fan of the "fiddle with it untill you find what you like" approach
