The 705, just sounds right. I never liked the LSi15's.

Not a fan of the LSI 15's either. Am a big speaker guy though so I'd also go along with the 705's for the win.

I do not own nor have i listened to any of them.

I did however pose a similar question to some Polkies over at avsforum when i was pondering speaker upgrade options.

The choices i told them i had in my radar were the A9s, 703s and 705s.

The responses i got from those who said they owned both the 703s and 705s are copied and pasted below:

"Positive thing about the 703's is they are way less expensive than the 705's. Heck, that should be a really nice upgrade plan if the OP is Ok with that. I mean, pull the trigger on the 703's now, then down the road he might be able to score a pair of 705's and then he should be able to move the 703's to surround duty and/or use them as wide speakers."

"I do have both, the 703s and the 705s and the 705s blend better with my two Rythmik Audio F12SEs subwoofers crossed at 60Hz Even at 80Hz the 705s sound more balanced than the 703s. Don't get me wrong, the 703s are amazing too but I feel the 705s more balanced and with more body, especially for music."

"I have both, I like the 705 but for music I think the 703 with my F12 is the best. I have the 705 paired with an lv12r crossed over at 40 since you have dual subs, you can achieve the lower base stereo effect."

Personally, i tend to have a bias for floorstanders so the vote would be for the 705s but with the massive difference in price a strong case can be made for the 703s.

Again I need to say that I have both, I do like the 705s better even for stereo paired with my two Rythmik Audio F12SEs. I crossover at 60Hz for stereo listening and 80Hz for HT listening. I found the 705 the more balanced speaker of the LSiM series.

In absolute terms, the 705 is the better speaker. In relative terms, the 703 is the better bang for the buck.

I think it depends on use. 2-channel, no sub... 705 all the way. HT, with sub... 703 is a real value.
    2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses

    Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's

    This!

I had modded 15's and preferred the 703's by a little bit.
