Just got the Theta Dreadnaught amp from Fedex and it took the wind out of my sails bringing it into my apartment. This amp is huge (way over 100 lbs)and I mean it dwarfs the big ole Krells and takes up more space than the McIntosh 501 mono. I am really looking forward to this one and I never listened to the Classe cp500 preamp so I could wait and pair them together.

I am going to be hooking it up to the Krell 350 cd player and maybe at some point run the squeezebox tough into the Krells Dac to see how it sounds compaired to the W4S Dac2 and PS Audio MK2. For cables I am going to keep the amp and pre hooked up with Wireworld Platinum 6 balanced ic's and Wireworld Silver Electra 7 ac's with a Wireworld Platinum 7 usb cord for the Dacs. I may run the shotgun s1's to pair up with the MIT oracle matrix 90 speaker cables as the S1's are a very capable ic for what you pay and the speaker cables just game over wipe the floor with almost anything out there.

The speakers will Martin Logan Vista, I would love to throw in the Electromotions for a listen but Martin Logan totally ruined those by making them only good for accepting bare wire.

This should be one MuFkn badd asss rig for solid state and I am hoping I have put the right system together to maybe sway my love of the tube equipment.

He will break it, or sell it, then it will get lost in shipping, or someone will try and scam it wether it be UPS, FEDEX, or the Buyer..

Somewhere down the line it will end up being 20 pages in the latest of PFB's male bovine excrement drama of his life...

Thanks Toolfan for the kind words, I just cranked it up after a little warm up period and I think the only thing mentioned here to be sold is the Krell amps. It may be the Classe but there is some magic happening right here in my room. I find that the Theta has all the best bass and mids like the Krell and the same great highs as my W4S st 500 amp but with the really awesome airy separation of the Mcintosh 501.

Its too early to tell and I have alot of swapping around to do but this amp is different than all the solid state amps I have heard thus far. I may just hook it up directly to the PS audio Dac as its a component I am very familiar with across a wide range of components.

John no offence but you always post threads about your going to buy this and do that and nothing ever comes from it. While on the subject, were you not posting saying something about your going to buy this particular amp?

I on the other hand like to roll my sleeves up and get it done. I like to get a piece of gear in the rack and spend a good amount of time listening, swapping stuff around because its all about me and my quest for good sound. I am happy to share my thoughts with anyone who has an interest.

This is not the club house its "The 2 channel section" so lets try settle down a bit here guys.

A very long time ago and before I built my own, I bought a Mcintosh MC7205 for a very good price, but the seller backed out after I had paid him. I got my money back instantly and without hassle because I did my due diligence before I bought.

I have serious doubts about much of what you have to say simply because I have NEVER seen someone that perpetually has the same exact crap happen time and time again, never to learn a damn thing from any of your previous endeavors. I would have to either say that you are the most dishonest member of the forum and you make this stuff up for attention, or that you are a complete idiot.

    Which is it?

I have a couple of pairs of Wireworld Gold Eclipse and a pair of Silver Eclipse and they are thick quality cables. The banana plugs from the attached to the cable is on the thicker side like many high end speaker cables so it wont fit. I never even knew they could take bananas as the button push post is so deep.

Anyway I own 2 pairs of Electromotion but here is a pic of one. As you can see on the carpet I have some monoprice speaker cable for just bare wire hookup. I may have to look into some decent cables for them doing HT.

I have not heard a Theta Amp, but their Jade transport is phenominal! I am sure your amp is of the same quality by the description you gave. Enjoy your new equipment PFB.

Relax, he knows we are just giving him a hard time, and understands he has brought this on himself.

It's not like he doesn't know what he's doing, and knows what is going to follow him. If anything he is probably one of the smartest guys here...

Keith, that's a big beautiful man amp if I've ever seen one.....congrats!

Guys, I have to say my dealing with PFB in the charity auction was easy peasy. Prompt and excellent communication. Paid right away.....actually over paid, which I refunded and even then he offered to send some back to help cover my gas. I know he's had some issues.....ok, a lot of issues with shipping and stuff, but maybe try cutting him some some slack.

You and me both. Though 3 words come to mind....trust-fund-baby.

Can't imagine someone that young, being so careless with that amount of money. He obviously has the means to put together a very nice system but once done, stop and start putting away for the future. Which btw sneaks up on you like a MF.
