Would someone please tell me an equivalent speaker (Vifa, peerless, vifa, etc.) for the Polk MW6502 midbass as found on the older Monitor series speakers such as what I'm replacing the Monitor 7B.
Thanks,
Mitchell

You can buy new replacement drivers such as the 6502 from Polk directly, in case you already didn't know. I'm waiting for them to come in as I need two but they are still on backorder until the 24th or so.Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me

I'm very aware of the replacements and Polk is having a problem getting them in. Called again today and said they would be here the last of the month. Called about a month ago and was told they would be in in a couple of weeks.....................
I'd just like to get my speakers working, and there are good speakers out there
I'd just hate to spend #35-$50 on a speaker and it not be right.
Does Polk make it's own speakers?

Mitchell - I called late last week and the guy stated that the parts for the drivers were supposed to be in on the 23rd and that they would take orders/ship on the 24th or 25th.
Does Polk make them? I didn't think so originally but maybe they do after what he told me. I really don't know........
I am also tired of playing the waiting game. A few of the drivers listed in the Parts Express catalog (Vifa) do look like the old black Polk drivers and I've always wondered if one of these were the same as some of the drivers Polk used. Back in the day these older speakers were 4 or 6 ohm and I'm not sure that an 8 ohm driver would work well. But...., who knows?
I just decided to wait it out albeit it tries your patience. I am sure glad that Polk still cares enough to try and keep these older drivers in replacement though!Remember, when you're running from something, you're running to something...-me -
There is an Audax and Peerless driver that spec CLOSE to the old Polk drivers, but I'd wait and do it right the first time - you won't be sorry.
