Just about a perfect day here....got a 6.5 lb pork 'butt' (bone in) going on the rig, smoke going like crazy, some cold beer, tunes on the rig.

In about 6 hrs it'll be time to pull the pork, slather it up with some bbq sauce and pile it high on some fresh rolls with coleslaw.

What do have going on today?

How's the quality holding up for Omaha Steaks? I've read it ain't so good lately. We get junk email flyers from them occasionally and remember that they used to be quite tasty.

I really enjoy them. There is a store close by that I go to, and I am able to hand select what I take home.

BBQ whole chicken with potato salad and pasta salad. easy summer meal. I recently upgraded my grilling surface. It came with percelaine enameled grill which worked for the first 3-4 yrs then it went downhill. I bought some cast iron grills and boy took my bbq to another level...Now my Weber is really cooking! Man those grills are heavy.

Yes, my Weber (the one in the photo above) came with cast iron grates and they are the bomb! Try getting those grill marks with porcelain or coated grates.

So I had the cast iron grates on my old weber and the were a PITA to keep from rusting even though I "seasoned" them... What is the secret to keep them from rusting... I dealt with it and they were great, but I like the Stainless Steel one's... They give nice grill marks.

Going on 3 years with the current Weber w/cast iron grates and I haven't had any issues with rust. I keep a grill cover on and it sits on the deck all year.
