I went to a different thrift store yesterday and got a pair of black JBL-G200 bookenders. I know in the large sceme of things they are not earth changing bookenders but they are certaily way better than my JBL 2060s which show their performance deficiancies once I got the Nikko 6065 w/ some real wattage thrown at them. They listed for $25 but on Thursdays they have a discount and to give even more incentive to regular customers they issue store cards for an additional discount. Final tally $12.45. They have a smaller design then the 2060s and can be pushed because the tweeters is a totally different design and they still have butyl surrounds. The place is a chain of stores call Unique Thrift and the stores are huge about 5x the size of any GoodWill I ever saw and better organised. No affiliation just a customer

I had a pair of these and liked them for what they are. Think I paid $20 and sold them for the same.
    Good score.

Not familiar with that model. But I see that it had the NEXT generation 1" Titanium laminate tweeter which WAS an improvement on the shXXty tweeter in the 2060 which was only a 1/2". I gather you did not get VIFAs for 2060 because they do make a BIG difference in sound.

The other thing that helps these 200s is that they are crossed over at a lower frequency (3K) as opposed to the 4.5K the 2060 have. Some of my favorite bookies are crossed over below 2.5K (and preferably 2K or lower). Allowing the woofer to do what it does best--resonate at lower frequencies, is a good idea. Often gives you a better transition along with a good crossover.

The woofer is not that different in either, a 6.5" polymer laminate. Except that the 200 seems to be a different model.

    Specs are similar, though.

Nice price. Good for a bedroom. I use two Rti-4s and an 8" sub in our bedroom, mostly for movies, though!

    Enjoy.

CHN, i was going to change tweeters and never jumped on it. In the end the tweeters w/ shipping would have cost more than the G-200s in total and for me a better speaker. This was just a total gamble that literally paid off.
