How do I hook up the RT2000i correctly?

Here's my dilema: I have a pair of RT2000i towers, and an Infinity BU2 subwoofer.

Should I:
1. Run speaker wire to the mids/tweets of the 2000i from the "A" speaker connection, set the speakers to "large" on my receiver
2. Run RCA to the subs on the 2000i and connect it to the 5.1 output on the back of the receiver (since fronts are set to "large", the LFE will go out of the 5.1 output to the 2000i subs)
3. Connect the BU2 to the "sub out" on the receiver which will send the LFE of the center, rear, and rear surrounds to the BU2

OR should I:
1. Run speaker wire to the mids/tweets of the 2000i from the "A" speaker connection, set the speakers to "small" on my receiver
2. Triple split the connection on the "sub out" from the receiver and send it to both sets of 2000i subs and the BU2, leaving the fronts, center, surrounds, and surround backs set to "small"

I guess what I'm asking is will the 2000i towers sound better using the LFE from the front 5.1 outputs, and using the floor sub take care of the other speakers....or should I set all the speakers to small and connect all the subs to the "sub out"? When DVDs are made, do they generally have low frequency in the fronts? If so, wouldn't it sound good if the fronts had stereo subs?

Am I making any sense?

I think that the book says, when using a dedicated subwoofer, have it hooked to the sub out. The 2000s then should be connected with speaker wire and front speakers set to large. If your sony has a 2 channel stereo option and you have your fronts set to small and all your subs daisychained together. You will not get any bass. My 444es has that option. I do like using it to listen to 2 channel music.
