Courtesy of Oppo (with an assist from Amazon!).

Finally got the BDP-103 today. As some here know, I've been asking questions about this for awhile now,
and last week I put in the order. Today it arrived ... I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when I opened that box!
Got it in place in the HT, but really have not done any more than make sure it works. Well, tomorrow's another day.

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Congrats man, it's a great machine and Oppo 's CS is second to none(or so I've heard). Are these babies packaged well or what? What model of TV are you running it to?

I bought a used but mint BDP-83 just last month and am very pleased with it. I bought it mostly for my dvd audio and sacd collection. Congrats and enjoy.

Enjoy your new Oppo! When I got mine, a good indication that it was well built was when I noticed the Oppo remote weighed about the same as my last blu-ray player :P

Very pleased with my BDP-103, both audio/video performance. Plug a hard drive full of music into that pup, and enjoy!

Congrats!! Please put in a good word to Santa for me and ask him to drop one off at my house. I'd really like the 103D, but a 103 would do very nicely. I've been a good boy, and I'll have a home made pecan pie waiting for him when he comes!! :-D

Thanks. Yeah, they sure are, and how cool is the "shopping bag" it comes in too? LOL And as some have stated, it is a lot heavier than I imagined, even the remote seems well-made. It will be run into a 67" Sammy LED DLP, it's almost 6 years old but has a really nice
picture, plus it's tough to imagine ever wearing out the LEDs (60K/hr lifespan?).

I plan on testing this out thoroughly in the coming days, already borrowed a couple of duplicates of some familiar blurays I own to test with; this will be going head to head against my current BDP, a PS3. I have identical HDMI cables all set, only thing I can't match is the PS3s power cord, so I will simply use the stock PC that came with the Oppo for now. Winner stays, loser gets packed up and thrown in the trash... OK, not really, but basically I promised myself that if the Oppo did not outshine the Sony in every way, it was getting sent back, no regrets.

    Stay tuned...
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I knew a few folks that had some of the Samsung DSP TV's, not sure if they were like yours though. Both developed a problem of white specs(pixels going out?) that got worse and worse over time. Seems like Samsung ignored their complaints about it and pissed them off to no end, lol. Before all that, the DSP was a gorgeous__ picture!

You'll really be impressed with its performance on standard DVD's.
