Hi, I have 2 different sets of Wharfdale towers available to me, a set of Saphires SP-89 and Monitor MFM-7, and need some pros and or cons before they get away. They appear to be in good shape, and I know of the brand, just have never heard any in person. Thanks!!

Also, I forgot to add, they will be used for music only as I am trying to build a nice sounding 2 channel setup.

I was looking at some before I dove into the Montana SP3's and they looked pretty nice. I haven't had my ears on them but I have read positive things. Do share what ya end up going with as there are so many great choices out there.

Never had my ears on any Wharfedale speakers, just know the name has been around as far back as I can remember. Made in GB back in the day.

I liked the Diamond 10.1 bookies I had, can't comment on the ones you're looking at though.

Right. I have a familiarity with the Diamond lineup as well as the Opus lineup. I would say that I'm very fond of each of these series. I also suspect that based upon reviews the Jade series would be excellent. However, the speakers in question here I have no knowledge of. That doesn't sound like something I'd buy without auditioning first, unless the price is such that it doesn't much matter.

    Two Channel Setup:

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac
    Source: iMac
    Remote Control: iPad Mini

    3.2 Home Theater Setup:

    Fronts: Klipsch RP-160M
    Center: Klipsch RP-160M
    Subwoofer: SVS PB12NSD (X 2)
    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030
    Blu Ray: Sony BDP-S790
    TV Source: DirecTV Genie

I am trying to setup a demo session later today, asking price is $75 for the Monitors and $125 for the Sapphires. I like the looks on them and hope the sound is as good.

The SP89's are "ok". For there large size they don't go real low and there is some boominess in the 60-100hz range wherever I put them, which is odd because they are front ported. I never heard Polk Monitor towers it would be interesting to see how they measure up. What did you think at the audition?
