As a DCM Time Frame 350 owner I was astonished to find these up for sale. Believed to be so rare they are called "heirloom"speakers. I've seen Time Window 1a and 3s for sale but never the vaunted sevens. As in the ad only a reported 200 or so pairs were ever made and I think went for $3200 back in the late 70s. After leaving S.F. I found out a friend of mine does own a set. This is an ad from U.S. Audio Mart and no affiliation just drooling over them.

(FWIW) The original timewindows were the best as far as I am concerned; the later ones (like the Polk "SDA" thingies) just got too baroque-ly complex compared to the simple (cheap!) yet highly effective design of the originals.

I agree somewhat with MHardy on this. Though I would love to hear and own a pair of the 7's i realize it will prob never happen. I agree completely on the SDA's Though I own and have listened to many models the 2A's/B's sound best by far to my ears. This is largely due to the simplicity of the design and how it does not have phase/ time alignment issues of the larger more complex models. I own bot the DCM TW (original) and the TW3. I like both models very much and between the 2 cant really choose. I have not heard the 1A's, 7's, or the TW squared. The design changes little between models and does not add multiples of drivers and components like the SDA's as the models go up. The improvements actually come in the larger bass drivers and the better time alignment of the tweets/ mids. by mounting the tweet over the center of the mid driver. The originals indeed have less drivers per cabinet than the some of the later revisions but they did not have the physical alignment of the tweet. I guess my point is that though the ere are significasnt changes in driver quality etc, the basic design does not get nearly as complex with changes as some other speakers tended to do (SDA's as an example). If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!
