Looking to put together something formy brother who just bought his first house. Has a small area for a tv room and I already have a soundbar and mirage omni s8 sub. Looking for a pio elite on a budget or one of the higher end vsx models. I am very familiar with pioneer so it is what I prefer. But let me know of you all have anything else comparable. Thanks in advance

I personally prefer the Elite stuff, the amps are top notch. I have had a few Onkyo units, still have one, that I like, but they are chancy with the HDMI board issues. Marantz seem to be really good, just not quite as easy to come by at a good price, and Yamaha and Harmon Kardon make good receivers, just not as user friendly from my experience. I'd say if you would stick with Pioneer, especially an Elite, you can't go wrong and usually some good deals out there in some. Good luck which ever you decide on.

I'm thinking about replacing my Pioneer Elite VSX21-THX. Probably worth around $285 shipped. I have the original box, manual, remote and setup microphone.

I got a Pio VSX-1018AH-K in storage for about a month now. I moved up to SC-1523. Was saving this for one of my sons, but make me an offer. I live in PA.

Thanks guys; picked up a pio vsx1021 locally and have it setup in my brothers new place with the polk soundbar and a mirage omni s8 subwoofer. Needless to say he is really happy and it sounds very good for a budget town home system.
