My M10's are finished!

Well I got my Monitor 10's finished :)

Super special thanks to Dave (westmassguy) who did my crossovers for me and really helped me me with what I should do to the cabinets, with HN & Dynamate xtreme & blackhole 5 etc...he also help me so I could do my Monitor 4's crossovers myself.

and I sent him dozen of emails with question and everything and he was awesome helping me through it all! he has become a really cool friend!

So now I going to open up some Newcastle Brown ale and this 1st one is a toast for you DAVE!!!

Thanks to all the Polkies too, for their help with the great info you all always give out :)

    Hope you enjoy your 10's. Dave is a good guy. He has done 2 sets of c/o's for me and has helped me with other Polk projects and answered dozens of my questions. You will be amazed at the difference in sound once they burn in. My first rebuild were 10a's and it has led to 4a's, 5a's, RTA12c's, SDA 1c's and a pair of 7b's waiting for me to tackle.

    +1 on Dave being a good guy. He helped me with my crossovers when I needed it and he's been very helpful when I've had questions since then. He is an asset to this forum.

    Enjoy those "NEW" 10s, voltz! Glad they aren't "Finished" as in "Blown!" or "Fried!" as I first thought when I saw your thread.

    Lots of deserved praise for Dave (WMG) around here for all his help.

    Love my 10Bs! One terrific pair of speakers.

    What did you do the cabinets? Pics or it didn't happen, ya know?

    Well in the picture you what is left of the Hurricane Nuts I replace the regular screws with, I also put dynamat Xtreme on the baskets around the PR & drivers. and 2 3x12 pieces of Blackhole 5 behind the drivers going up towards the top. I sealed the cabinet better with the loctite that I also put on the drivers to prevent magnet shift. Hope this pic works for you as I didn't want to take the speakers out again to show inside :)

    Glad you love your 10's, its because of Polkies like you talking about how much you love them that made me go find a set for myself :) otherwise I would never have considered them.

    I did not do anything with the vinyl like mikey and them have been doing but I just may someday, for now I want to put my ears on them I need to burn in my new crossovers :)

    Well I have been burning in my Monitor 10's for several weeks now, and they have really opened up. I had to burn in some IC's and speakers cables I got from Douglass Connections also and the Tube amp. Now everything has improved some much better then I ever expected :)

    I had been listening to my system all day and stop for a minute and switch over to my RTiA7's and I was shocked how flat & Dull the A7's sounded now comparison to the Monitor 10's! I totally in love with the 10's now, and I think I am done changing anything in my system also. I finally found that sweet spot B)
