Vintage amp

Hello everyone in Forum land. I will admit, I am interested in older receivers and amps, I have never purchased any. I have located a Marantz 1030 amp and would like to know if this is a decent and desirable model or would I be wasting my money? Seller says it works and can demo and in decent condition with no missing knobs or buttons. Is $50 a decent deal? Thanks to everyone for info insight.

    Yeah, 50 bucks is a good deal but be aware....she's pretty old and may need some work done. If your prepared to do so, to spend some additional coin on it, then yeah....it's worth the 50.

    15 WPC, easily worth the $50 asking price. Not as desired as the 1060 in Marantz circles, but still worth having. It has decent headphone outputs too as a plus.

    Like I said, no practical knowledge of vintage power. What would I be possibly looking at repairing and how much cash would it possibly be? I have always wanted some vintage gear, just don't want to jump in quick to find I should have went a different route.

    More than $3 a watt is just about obscene for a 15wpc, BOTL receiver. The seller did you a favor by selling it to someone else.
