Was at home this am watching GMA eating cereal when my FB Messenger app dinged. So I look at the message and its from a friend here in town. Said he was cleaning out and getting rid of some stuff and asked me if I wanted some Polk speakers. LS90 he says. I'm like sure! I've been looking for some speakers to start my twins on in their bedrooms so what can you guys tell me about these two speakers? Apparently he was going to pawn them or take them to Goodwill! WHAT!!!! So we chatted some more and he says he has some Bose 101's too that I can have! What??? Sure! I'm excited stuff like this does not normally happen to me! Pictures will follow when they get delivered!

The 101s are kid room stuff, but the LS90s deserve some rotation time in you main rig.

So apparently they belonged to his grandfather. His grandfather passed a couple years ago and he got them. He was going to get rid of them and remembered that I was into music and such and thought he'd ask me if I wanted them! So I popped Jack White's new vinyl on the TT and jammed out! I took him to lunch too! So for a $10 sandwich at a new deli I got these sweet sounding speakers!
    Sweet!

My son says they are going in his room....... So now I get to look for some way to power these things in his room. Integrated amp? Sherwood? Thoughts?

I'll take the ones in the back if you are done w/ those. :cheesy grin:
Was it the Bass driver sound on those? A little too "loose." I would think
they would be great for HT. Guess I can use the search function!

Those in back are about to get the RDO-198 upgrade. Larry's rings too I hope! They are not going anywhere any time soon. You are more then welcome to come by drink a beer and listen to some tunes though. I only played a couple songs on them as to see how they sounded and that they worked. I actually liked them on the Hafler.

Yea this is my first time. Hence the exuberance to share! Plus I'm not familiar with them at all!

OOOO you got the Rosewood finish. Sexy. Tell your son to be careful with that plastic bracket on the front. If they aren't loose yet, some careless hands could make it happen very quickly.

Yea I like the way they look. Those plastic brackets are pretty much being held in place with the covers.

    I'm stoked!

You did fantastic xjghost! Those LS90's are very decent speakers and a number of fellow polksters run them here. I bought a pair of them a couple of years ago from the very well regarded CP member, Dave Muell. My LS90's do side surround duty in the HT, they handle everthing thrown at them quite well :). Enjoy!

Ended up near a Habitat for Humanity store in Camden today and found this:

Just gave it a test. Works. Static in the knobs when touched but that is about it on initial impressions.

It was quite good actually. :) I've got to figure out where and how to place them in his room, but yea hes stoked! I went to the GF house this am to help her with some things and came home to find some vinyl on the table. He had been listening to several Led Zepplin albums, Cage the Elephant, and Daft Punk. LOL! I'm excited about the JVC too and so is he. I think they will go nice for him. Especialy sence the JVC was $13.

Ok so I scored a Parasound HCA-800 on fleabay as I see you guys like to call it. I also scored a couple of pre's in the last few weeks. An NAD 1600 and a Carver CT-24. ATM the Carver is in the bedroom with an old Dynaco and my Monitor 10's. I have twins so I have been trying to build them both a small system. I think the Parasound will go in my room and the Dynaco with the NAD pre with these speakers. Then I can put the JVC in my other sons room with the little Bose 101's I was given. I'm really excited to share my love of listening to music with my boys by building them a budget system.
