What a great company. I have a bunch of their stuff. I have a Sonata cartridge in my turntable, and I have two pair of headphones - 80's and 325's. I also have the battery version of the RA-1 that I travel with from time to time, and for the heck of it I just bought a PH-1 phono stage. They didn't show where they make the headphone amps!
Never really appreciated until I heard John say the "we got lucky" line in this video how well positioned they were to ride the new audio waves! Definitely two of the hottest trends in audio in the last 10 years have been headphones and the resurgence of records. What could be better for a company that manufactures headphones and cartridges?!?!Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -
Grado is a very cool company. Every article I read about them makes me glad they are still out there. I follow them on Facebook and have to say they tend to stay away from tons of advertising.
One day I want to own a set of their higher end headphones to use at home, but for now my audio journey lies elsewhere."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I own a couple sets of their headphones.
Definately different."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
A great company...I have never had the pleasure of auditioning a set of their phones...I have however a few of their phono cartridges in my mix...First introduced to them in the early 80's...first was the GF1+....Grado and Ortofon are the only ones I use....

I love my GS1000i - won't part with them. My B-I-L does radio braodcasting and I got him a pair of 225 and he is hte envy of his team. They are perfect fo his use since they are over the ear and not isolating.[

Read that write up yesterday. Great story and cool that they have kept it cottage and have their own injection molding operation in the basement.
