Well I got the csi5 today and now I have to be patient and wait for my fxi5's that I scored on our flee market. My first love of speakers came in the form of polk rti6's. I parted out the system long ago and always wanted it back for the great HT sound. Sure you can spend thousands on a system for double duty that you have to watch like a hawk or keep covered up. I like the fact that I can just relax with these and if I get pissed of on online shooters I can kick em over and hug as I pick them back up sobbing in apologies .
I really wana try some RTI 12's as I was always very envious of their owners when starting out in the hobby a few years ago but for now it will be RTI8, CSI5,RTI6 and FXI5 for good times. Also thinking back I never used an amp or a HT pre but it was still magical so it will be great to hear how much better they will sound with some good gear n cables.

Hey that's my setup, RTi8's and a CSi5. I've got the smaller surrounds though. What are you using for a sub? That's gonna be my next upgrade, but it will probably be awhile.

I use a Martin Logan grotto, really great for music and all you need for small theater. I am eyeballing your sig right now Hermit and wonder how the sc05 sounds for movies with the rti's?

Love the 05. I've got my ht setup in a spare bedroom because my living room has hardwood floors, 50% windows and the sectional and TV are too far apart because I need to keep the center of the room open for a walking path. It would be an absolute horror to watch a movie in the bright reflective room. The 05 has more than enough power for the small room I have it in, so I'm not using an external amp. Everyone says I'd still benefit from one, so maybe one day I might give it a try. I have no experience in higher end AVR's, so I can't compare the 05 to similar priced AVR's, but I'm very happy with it. I thought the 05/RTi mix always sounded great for movies, but thought the sound was a bit bright for music. But I've done a lot to warm them up and think they sound great for music now, at least for my taste. My only complaint is my sub doesn't go low enough.
