Recently purchase a Dared SL-2000a pre-amp. I am replacing the stock 12AT7 tubes with Mullard tubes and I am looking for a replacement rectifier tube to go with the Mullards. Thanks

Is the 5Y3 tube a suitable replacement like the 5Z4G or GZ30 and CV1863? -

Signal tubes, I'd recommend any Sylvania 12AT7. The mil specs 12AT7WA and 6201 are nice. I like the Gold Brand 6201 and the late 1950's triple mica the best. If you shop around, these are generally less expensive than their European, ECC81 cousins. Lot of nice tubes in this variety and I got a small fortune invested in the Valvo, Siemens, Amperex and Telefunkens. I recommend the Sylvania to you for now because they're nice sounding & less expensive until you get your learn on.

Presence is a cool guy to deal with and he ships fast. Man, prices have blown up on these since I haven't bought tubes for my Dared in a couple years.

Concur have bought many tubes from him stand up guy for sure. -
The Mullards that Faustin is referring to are a pair of the NOS premium version of the Mullard CV4024 with plain white shield Mitchum plant I believe from 1969 that I purchased from F1 Nut. They will sound really nice with the Brimar rectifier he's getting.
