I am writing to tell you about a great opportunity that really has nothing to do with my business as it is thru Peachtree direct. However, when I see a killer opportunity to let my customer’s know about a unique way to get a great deal I thought I would let you know.
Peachtree audio is introducing their new $500.00 DeepBlue2 on Monday by crowd funding it on indiegogo.com. The DeepBlue 2 is the new upgraded Deep Blue that was introduced last year. The Deep Blue was a 240 watt portable music system that was a revelation. It outperformed the $700.00 B&W and the $600.00 Bose portables by a wide margin.

Info on the original Deepblue can be seen here:
http://www.peachtreeaudio.com/deepblue-bluetooth-music-system.html

Reviews on the Deepblue were exceptional and everyone who heard it was blown away. I use one myself in my kitchen and sold lots of them to friends at $399.00.
Here are a few review quotes:
“...the little deepblue system suddenly pounded out some shockingly deep bass.” “It beats the snot out of the tabletop systems I’ve heard lately." "The final shock? The target price is $399. I’m still flabbergasted.” - Scot Hull theabsolutesound.com
"The DeepBlue didn’t sound awesome for $400, it just sounded awesome. And I’m excited."
- audio-head.com
"A $399 product that sounds this good and is very easy to use is a dream come true..."
- computeraudiophile.com

When the company that made Deepblue for Peachtree suddenly went out of business last year Peachtree lost their large deposit and all the tooling for Deepblue. They immediately went to work to design a replacement that was better in all respects. The new Deepblue 2 has 440 watts, a much better woofer and far superior dome tweeters. In addition it has the new AptX Bluetooth system, more inputs and nicer cosmetics and upgraded DSP to control the sonics. This new Deepblue2 is sonically far superior to the original and adds more features and nicer cosmetics.
This is real quality audio in a remote controlled portable product. Run one in the bedroom, office or use it with your TV for great sonics or as an outdoor system. You will be amazed at the sonics.
However, the tooling alone cost over $80,000 and there are many other start-up costs. To defer these costs Peachtree is turning to crowd funding. On Monday at NOON, EAST COAST time they will offer the first 250 investors a DeepBlue2 for only $250.00. The next 500 backers can get one at only $299.00 and then they will offer as many as they can sell thru the August 22nd end date at $349.00. Freight is included in the 50 states.
There is even an offer to buy 2 for the first 125 backers at $498.00 and the next 250 backers at $598.00
Here is a preview link with 2 videos to preview the DeepBlue2:
https://www.indiegogo.com/project/preview/03052c12

The link to the site to get yours on Monday is:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/deepblue2-the-ultimate-bluetooth-speaker-designed-by-peachtree-audio
This link will not be live until noon on Monday.

So put it on your calendar and be sure you get in early…I expect the first tier to sell out within hours. Again, the campaign launches July 21st (noon EDT) and runs through August 22nd and can be seen here: www.indiegogo.com/projects/deepblue2-the-ultimate-bluetooth-speaker-designed-by-peachtree-audio

This is an amazing deal and well below dealer cost to the first investors in the killer product.

I always hear the phrase ringing in my head when I think about buying something like this "There is no replacement for displacement".

Looking at the video, it doesn't mention how long the battery life is or if its splash or water resistant. It gives the inpression of possibly being water resistant since they show it by a pool but doesnt say. I recently bought a fugoo because it was water proof, sandproof and a 40 hour battery but for the beach its not loud enough.

I thought he mentioned that it wont take batteries because of the high output. I am seconding guessing myself now because they did give the impression that it was portable in the vids hmmmmm.

In the vids they state you can use it anywhere, show it by a pool with a person jumping in giving the impression its splash proof, as well as several shots of it on a table without a power cord in sight. I would be interested in one if it was truly portable not just in weight but a battery to take it wil you.

...and a true statement it is, however, music isn't only enjoyed one way. Variety is the spice of life....my wife doesn't subscribe to that though.

Correct, it does NOT run off batteries. From the ad:
    Does it run off batteries?

The power requirement to achieve this kind of performance requires deepblue2 to be plugged in to a 100V to 230V wall outlet.

Well my preordered Peach Tree Deepblue2 from the Idiegogo campaign is finally shipping. Looking forward to compating it to Sonos play5. more than likely it will go to my wife for her workouts but I'll be running it through the trenches before the hand-off.

Will also toting it to Skips gathering at the end of the month

I am working out of town, but return this weekend. I'll try to fire it up and give a review.

    @bad1550:

i put up money for a couple of these as a backer as well a few months back - they showed up today. i really don't remember why it seemed like such a great idea at the time...just like most of you, my audio decisions are typically made online while consuming a few too many whiskeys. in full disclosure, i guess i can be considered a bit of a peachtree **** - i purchased the nova125 when it came out a few years ago, and just recently took advantage of their upgrade program to trade it for the nova220se - another questionable decision given how often it gets used.

anyways - back to the deepblue2. i'll probably use it in my office and maybe even drag it outside every now and then. i have a sonos play3 in my office now. not really a fair comparison, but this deepblue2 throws some pretty impressive bass - if you're into that kind of thing. using the iheartradio app, i was starting to get a headache listening to the local 103.1 iHeartAustin station with the bass maxed out and normal-to-low volume. this thing does a really good job cranking up the volume as well - it self-adjusts the bass pretty well to avoid any distortion regardless of how stupid you try to be. i changed to the local classical station - admittedly, this is much more enjoyable to listen to than the sonos. the distinction between instruments seems much more clear and the overall tonal quality is good - i guess displacement still does mean something.

i'll be in the home office through the rest of the week, so will have some time to find out if there are any quirks or complaints about this thing - at the same time, i really won't use it for anything more than streaming from my iPad/iPhone at reasonable listening levels in between conference calls. assuming i'm still content with this by eob Friday, you'll probably see a sonos play3 on the flea market saturday morning. i guess the listing may also include a nib deepblue2 if i can't think of another location for the other one that seemed like such a great idea a few months back....

The Sonos Play 5 would be more of a direct comparison, but anyway, glad you like it.
