How do I delete or edit a thread/post?

At the bottom of the page I see under "Posting Permissions" "You may edit your posts", but I don't see how exactly to do this. Perhaps that button has gone away now that people have responded or a certain amount of time has elapsed? Anyone have any ideas?

You only have about 20 minutes to edit a post after posting it. Just below your post you will see an edit option. I'll post a pic after making this post.
