Hello everyone. I am always looking for speakers to buy, try and maybe flip. I have heard of Focal and from what I gather is a rather good brand with a good reputation. I have located a set of their Chorus V models with matching center and before I commit to trying to work out a buying price I would like some opinions if anyone has any experience with the brand. They are about an hour and a half drive each way so any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks to everyone!!

Will do, and I was going back and forth looking at the small pictures on my cell phone, they are 807v BS models and an CC800V center.

Music Direct has been clearing out some of Focal's Chorus line for awhile now I believe. Maybe check there for current new pricing to help determine your used value.

Their Chorus line is ok, but things improve dramatically as you go up the line...

They used to sell Focal speakers at Home Entertainment (eventually became Tweeter stores) and you are right dbK, they have a respected following. As mentioned above Focal makes a wide array of speakers for various budgets. Let us know what you end up getting.

I know that you get what you pay for, usually. Personally, these 3 speakers worth $400 and 3 hours driving? I know every ear is different and some people will argue either way, I just want to make sure its worth it if I commit and make the drive and spend the cash. I have read mixed reviews on the Chorus line on different sites, and will most certainly base my decision 90% on what I get on this site. Maybe my brain saw the Focal trio posted for $400 and just figured this was naturally a very good deal.

$400 for that trio is a great deal. I may be interested in the 807v if you decide you do not like them.

It would be next Saturday before I could make the trip over, I guess I can think it over, and if I get them and don't like them I will send you a pm Conradicals. I do appreciate the feed back, I would love to try something different. I think these Focals may be a step to expand my horizon a bit. I have always been a Polk guy, had a little Infinity stuff and a Paradigm setup.

    Focals are nice speakers.

And I agree with Assimilated. I've heard the Focals that start at $4000 a pair (for bookshelves, that is) and rise exponentially, and some are very special. But they're mostly out of my economic reach. And I hate spending a LOT!

Well I was just informed by the seller the center has sold, and also informed that they have matching surrounds. I really wanted the 3 channel setup, going in my bedroom. That said, I think I am going to pass. As usual, thanks everyone for the awesome feedback.

Thats life, my luck usually runs that way. Funny enough, I sometimes forget to look in the flea market. And in case anyone else my be interested in the Focal, I did ask them about shipping to save me the trip, didn't say they wouldn'tship, just rather I pick them up in person.
