Need TV/Entertainment Stand Suggestions

So I am going to be buying Rick88's Yamaha Aventage from him. Just measured my current little stand which will only leave the new Yamaha 1/2" of clearance for air ventilation. Not good. I'm staying on top of Craigslist but haven't seen anything that has caught my eye yet. Looking for suggestions that won't break the bank, I am okay with used after all. I really like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HY6R7E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2R9L6JF8N0TMR&coliid=I1HNMUNE79X3H1&psc=1

I'll have to do some measuring when I actually get the AVR but just going off the measurements on Yamaha's website it (the one I just linked on Amazon) is just a few inches shy depth wise. If the feet under the AVR are wide enough though, it might fit. In case it doesn't, what would you recommend? I have room for about 80" length which would put the speakers at the ends of the couch. Could do a little longer if I wanted the front speakers wider than the couch.

BF, if Nightfall passes on this, I'll take it!! Heck, you got more coin - by a long shot! - into just that power conditioner and a cable or two than I got into my whole rig!! ;-)

Nightfall, are those SDAs you have there? Can't tell for sure from the pic - RTAs (look like 12-hats on top?) maybe?

If SDAs (and you probably know this already), no toe-in necessary or accepted.

    That's all.

BlueFox - If I had a smaller TV an entertainment center like that would work. I appreciate the offer, but not really what I'm looking for.

Teekay - RTA-12's, lots of toe-in accepted

RPF65 - Checked out that site for a second and looks like they have a ton of options, I will check it out more later.

Another thing I forgot to mention is I would like to add a turntable in the future. These Monitor 5's, while sound amazing as a center, are really the main hurdle. They take up way more space than a center should - and than most TV Stand manufacturers take in account for. I wonder how a CS400 or CS400i would sound in comparison?

I agree, check craigslist. I searched for "TV" in the FURNITURE section in your area and 1900 hits came up. There are a ton of stands on there for $100 or less: http://denver.craigslist.org/search/fuo?query=TV

    Here is a nice one:

The one shown above that Bello looks like it will be great in the height department probably ok in the depth department I got a d and somewhat similar but even by passing the cable management on the bottom shelf my AVR sticks out about 1 1/2 inches out so measure the depth on your AVR. Before you buy it.

OK, here is what looks like a Salamander Synergy model 236, $1399 list.

I've got one similar to the one Walt linked and I've been happy with it. Nice and open so even if you don't have great clearance at least your equipment isn't cooking in an enclosure.

FWIW, I do not have my TV sitting on top of mine.

Just sent an e-mail. That is exactly the style I have been interested in, my fingers are crossed. If they still have it, I owe you a beer! I have high hopes because they don't say what it is or what it originally cost. That and it's hard to sell an entertainment center, look how many are for sale...

Emailed back right away, just got off the phone with what sounded like an old lady. Going to pick it up in the morning. If the measurements on the Salamander website are correct it will just fit in my Civic hatchback.

The Synergy is the rack I want when I grow up! With a heavy hitter Big Boy system like this:

That second picture is effin incredible. I would love to be able to bring my laptop and an HDMI cable and just listen to a while with music I am familiar with. Just to see what real gear sounds like. On the other hand, I might not be able to listen to my own after

My last caveat is that the ad was meant to be $600 instead of $60. I'll see in a few hours...

Thanks! I need to get some more pictures on my walls, though. A video game picture or two and a movie picture or two. The Fallout 3 lithograph that SniperREX has for sale is awfully tempting but more than I want to spend on a picture right now.

I owe you big, Walt! I did in fact get a $1400 Salamander for $60 this morning! This was this ladys ex husband or boyfriends stand. She mentioned to me that she might have remembered that he was going to sell it for $500 but that sounded like a ridiculous price to her. Teaser...

Cool Man, glad I could help. Bring on the pics!

As far as you owing me? maybe I will take you up on that.... I will start to look for gear out that way and if I come across something interesting maybe you can do some leg work for me?

If it wasn't for craigslist I'm not sure how far along I would be. Everything in my system I got good deals on.

Steady as she goes. Everything is unhooked, swept and mopped (dust!), and have the Salamander in place now. I feel like an idiot not having noticed this but I am missing two shelves. Ugh. Does anyone happen to know if Salamander will sell me the two pieces of wood and how much they cost?

Almost all of the bolts were loose. Everything is put back together and tightened up on it. The infinite adjustable shelving was a pain in the **** to get level on the drawer and center shelf.

    Ah, there's the rub...the shelves cost $495 apiece! ;-)

J/K, of course. Good luck picking those up. Nice pickup!

Well that took way, way longer than I expected. I get to do it again when I receive my new Yamaha soon here, yay. Couple of quick pictures and I'm off to bed. Took the drawer out because I have nothing to put in it and it gives me an extra spot for equipment. Apologies for having nothing but a phone camera that likes to take yellow blurry pictures.
