New Setup

I decided to play around and re-do my rack. The Infinity's required a TON more power than the RTA 11TL's so I had to switch some gear around.
I made a play for a Parasound HCA-1200ii locally and got that, and then acquired the BOSOZ pre-amp that SCompRacer had. Its a really nice little pre, and another project for me as I plan to pimp out the chassis with some woodworking help from my buddy ZTFUL, and add a remote volume control (no remote input switching needed) when I can get to it.
Anyway here is the new stuff. There is one more piece I cant mention that's been removed due to NDA reasons.
Anyway here it is.
From Top to Bottom you have the following:
Parasound HCA-1200ii amplifier
Cambridge Audio DacMagic DAC w/ Pangea Powersupply upgrade - thanks MrBiron
Pass Labs DIY BOZOS - Thanks SCompRacer
Undisclosed device
APC H15
Furman PL Plus Series II - thanks Scottyboy76
The Cabling is as follows:
PC to DacMagic: Black Cat Veloce Coaxial Cable - thanks pearsall001
DacMagic to Pass Labs: Douglass Connection w/ locking bananas*
Pass Labs to Parasound: Douglass Connection w/ locking bananas*
Parasound to RTA 11TL's: Douglass Connection 9 AWG spades on speaker end, bananas on other end*
DacMagic to Undisclosed Device: Phillips Coaxial cable - thanks Pepster
*demo cables from Doug
For now I have the amp and pre connected to the Furman and the rest connected to the APC unit. The APC "should" be able to handle everything so I will likely be moving the Furman to my loft closet once I install all my networking gear in there so I can provide some sort of protection for all that gear.
Anyway the pre & amp are manually turned on, the rest stays on and connected 24/7.
My long term goal is the following (see pic for reference)
The plan is to get rid of the desk entirely. I am looking at finding a nice cheap LCD TV of appropriate size (ie 32-46") to use as my computer monitor. Needs to have a HDMI, S-Video & Composite connection. This will allow me to connect up all my older consoles (SNES, Xbox, Sega, etc) and play them on the screen. I am also looking to acquire a nice listening chair.
The rack will move from where it is in the corner of the room to the middle of the long wall (the space currently occupied by my desk) making it equidistant to any speakers I run there. My current eD sub is now in my loft for the time being and it too will be eventually connected as the pre-amp has 2 RCA and XLR outputs. I simply need to wire the second set in parallel with the first as that hasnt been done yet.
The TV/Monitor will be wall-mounted above the rack. My computer and all stereo equipment will be located there. The TV will be connected via HDMI. All remote control will be done with a Harmony One remote that will use a IR sensor for my computer to control music playback, and a a yet to be installed volume control on the Pass Pre-amp.
The listening chair will be moved back toward the rear of the half wall. I already have a wireless keyboard and mouse and those will be used in conjunction with a yet to be made piece of wood that will go from one side to the other of the recliner and then be stored away elsewhere when not in use. I may also get a nice end table/coffee table to go there. My current monitor will be connected via a RIDICULOUSLY long DVI cable that runs from the computer, under the floor and through the half wall and terminates at the monitor. The Monitor will be mounted on a LCD swivel arm mount that allows me to swing it back and out of the way and use the TV only if needed.
Once all thats done I will re-address the room at that point and probably build a couple sound panels or buy them from ATC as they are fairly local. If I need bass traps I will likely build those myself and the only place I could really install one would be where my rack is located currently, and the back corner of the half wall.
In addition in the closet in that room I will likely end up installing that Furman PL Plus Series II, along with my Uverse Router and a 8 port switch. From that switch I will run 4 Cat 5e cables to my HT room located below the loft, 1 will stay for a direct connection to my PC, 2 will go to the master bedroom for our Roku & Uverse DVR. I debated running Cat 6, but will pass on that for now. By putting the networking stuff in the closet, when I upgrades to a NAS later on it allows me to connect that device directly to the switch and access everything from everywhere. I also can buy a bigger switch later on to expand as I start to need more LAN connections in various rooms.
Or at least thats the plan for this week ....

I will eventually get some better pics of my system lol. For now I just dont have time for more than crappy cell pics...
Next Saturday I am home alone so I plan to post some pics of the systems and layout as its changed a bit since my last place..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Whats with the secret squirrel piece of gear ?
Sorry man, bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement on it......
Its a device is all I can say. Maybe its used to snag phone calls from anyone within a 1 mile radius that mention Democrat and then log cross reference their address and then deletes their voter registration, maybe its a mini nuclear reactor... cant tell ya homie.Or maybe you sprung for something from Coconut audio ?
Dang it Tony you caught me.
Coconut Audio got in bed with Emotiva and they came up with the Coconutiva Audio amplifier.
Its all housed in a Coconut based enclosure that has a special liquid substance inside to ensure the sound thats coming from the device is liquid and smooth. Its then wrapped in Crystals, dipped in Pixie dust and signed by Elvis and Tu Pac."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Yup. Will be playing with it more now that its connected to my RTA 11TL's while the RS-II's are down getting worked on."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Do you see whats happening here. You're showing the progression of your system yet everyone that has taken the time to read about it can't see past the fact that you hid something from the public view. I know, i'm one of those people!!!!
I saw the first picture and then immediately skipped the mass of jargon to see what the answer was......and never went back:-P
It's a pocket rocket charging station. Based on the black blob, it looks like you splurged (*giggle*) for the 6 banger (*giggle*)...........Mystery solved! Chalk up another victory for -> this guy <-
******i read it all....i'm a chronic liarWhere’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
It's okay, you can go ahead and tell them. After all the crap that F1 gave me for owning a Monster power conditioner, I made the desicion to sell it to Enders as long as he kept quiet about it. Actually, he was the one insisting that we keep it quiet. Sorry to spoil the secret!

Even from the source snitches get stitches, kidding of course looks good Enders nice stuff , my guess for the NDA would of been a Kenwood or Pioneer Reverb, but now that the cats out of the bag what the heck.Home Theater
