Hello everyone, I need a little help here. What type of RCA cable do I use to hookup an amp to a receiver. Is there different kinds, or they all do the same job. I'm hooking up an adcom amp to an Onkyo receiver, to power Polk audio speakers. Thank you Joe

RCA interconnect cables can serve several different purposes:
a] Mono analog audio. (1 cable)
b] Stereo analog audio Left & Right (Red & White)(2 cables)
c] Composite video with audio (Yellow w/Red & White)(3 cables)
d] Component video but no audio (Red, Blue, Green)(3 cables)
e] Component video with audio (Red, Blue, Green)(Left & Right)(5 cables)
f] Digital audio (1 cable)
In general any cable will serve any purpose, but often cables are optimized to a labeled purpose. -
So (b) is my best option.

You want RCA cables for audio, sometimes called patch cords. Generally they are marked on the terminations with the right channel red and the left channel white. However, some makers use different colors. You can buy generic versions for next to nothing or you can spend north of $10,000.00. I suggest something better than the generic version.Political Correctness'.........defined

I guess 50.00 to 100.00. -
Others will chime in but Blue Jeans Cable or Signal Cable are good recommendations. Signal Cable usually gives a Club Polk discount. I have Signal Cable interconnects and have been very happy._____________________________________________________________________________________________
