A guy on Craigslist is selling all these for cheap, he says. He doesn't have prices listed but I just asked so we will see. What order would you put them in as best sounding. I love the looks of the cs77a:) but never heard them.

Pioneer Cs77a
Ohm model d (new foam)
Paradigm 9se mk3
Nova 7b
Nova 8
Infinity rs5001 (new foam)
Criterion 2002 a

Cheers;

Davey

Depends on what you have and what kind of sound you like.

Lots of these are "warmish" speakers. The Nova 7b and 8 are RS attempts to mimic KLH classics (I believe the 6s and the 5s) but they probably need a crossover upgrade ASAP.

Many Ohms were worth a listen.

If you haven't heard an Infinity with an Emit tweeter, it's not a bad idea to try a set.

Personally, I'd probably take a set of Polk Monitor 7s over almost anything above. That's not to say they're not worth a listen.

I haven't heard any Criterion, but I'd pass on the Pioneers.

If those 9se Mk3 are anything like the 7se Mk3's & were a good cond/price id be on them fast. Ohm's are beautiful speakers-not sure on that model

The only thing I'd add is the Ohms are liked for gaming.
    Price and application are everything.

Nothing there I'd jump for/at (unless very cheap); that's a pretty pedestrian lot, if'n you were to ask me... the Ohms aren't interesting Ohms... but a priori they're (IMO and to my taste) probably the best of that lot.

EDIT: Yeah, Randy's right -- the Paradigms are probably the pick of that litter.
Most of the rest are fodder for threads like this one: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?162638-Why-Vintage-Speakers/page2 :-P

Are the Criterions of the same ilk of the Lafyette brand from the 70s? I had a pair of 100s and they were pretty horrible in terms of a quality sound. Again they were my 1st and who knew back then. Ohms, ARs, KLH and the like were all way to expensive and there wasn't all that many places to even go hear them back then. If had to pick it would go to the Ohm Ds, keep in mind there was a whole alphabet line from ohm then they went on w/ the Ohm/Walsh series which is another leauge altogether.

Yes,one in the same Criterion - and the ones being asked about are pretty bad, too.

I would go with the mk3's as they will be easyer to sell on again if you dont like em or get bored.
