Today I decided to listen to my LSi 15's in stereo mode thru my HT rig using the network mode on my Marantz AV7701/Sunfire TGA7401. Both subs are on also... SO this is new to me, as I have not dialed this combo in before as I would always listen to the 2 channel rig in the other room for music.

Now I have been completely satisfied with the HT rig for some time now but just listen to the 15's I must say i am audibly impressed and shocked as to the overall sound quality and dynamics of this rig. The sound stage is big and deep. I always assumed the 15's were nice in 2 channel just never experienced it before today.
My New Year's resolution is 3840 × 2160

    Actually had to get up and put my ear to the center channel to make sure it wasn't playing. Silly...

    LOL its like turning off the sub so you know its there, then its like YEP its working and you can sure tell the difference when its off, but not when its on :)

    Quite frankly I will never be convinced that you need two separate systems for HT & music. If you buy speakers with music being the priority, then they will do just as well with HT so long as you have a sub or two and all the speakers are properly powered.

    Until others are always camped out watching TV or something and your wanting to listen to some music to relax :)

    I have a similar set up to you and added a preamp with HT Bypass - made a huge improvement to 2-channel music (granted though I had a different pre/processor than the Marantz I have now).

    Totally agree Cathy. I guess we have to turn in our audiophile members cards in now.

    I've said many times that when choosing speakers for a dual purpose system, try and shoot for the ones that do music well first. Speakers that can do music well usually have no problem with HT. Not the case the other way around though.

    The music and HT system I put together was supposed to be a 50/50 use rig. The LSI speakers with a proper receiver/amp does the job beautifully.
