Making a change due to current length (or lack of) and hoping someone here has some experience with this one. The tech at MIT said it would be a definite upgrade from the Shotgun 2S I now have, so that will have to be heard to be believed, The 12 ft length will be just what the doctor ordered for a clean set up and that's why I'm doing this. Hope to Heck I am making a good move!

That's what I said in a PM to the man. I think talking to Joe and giving him your list of gear he'd match you up just fine. But....the OP dived on some other cables so we shall see how they work out for him.

I am a diving duck. Joes response was "In my opinion, Matrix 12 is a lateral step from S2; neither up nor down, although a BiWire cable (compared to non-biwire) should open things up a bit more." Not what MIT said?? Anyway, I dove on a 12 ft set of audio analysis black oval 9's and will give them a shot next week sometime.

The Matrix 12 has 12 articulation poles and lists for $999.00. I can't recall the exact number of poles the Shotgun S2's have, but I'm certain it is more than 12. For example, the newer Shotgun S2.3's have 23 poles. The list for the Shotgun S2's was $1399.00 and that was before the price increase. The Matrix 12 price before the increase would be about half of the current list.

Anyway, I dove on a 12 ft set of audio analysis black oval 9's

Now, that is a definite step down.

At least I now have been there done that with the MIT S2's. I wont forget that sound so quick, and even though papa is not here to listen, I'm sure he'd trust my ears. I will report after I make the switch and I am not locked into the switch if I just hate them.

    .

Amen to that, at least your trying different stuff to see what tickles your left nut. I actually like the sound of their interconnects except for one small area, they don't seem to do lower bass notes very well.
