On July the 6th , drove down to New Braunfels reluctantly to catch uncle Ted Nugent.( it was hot & I had to work @ 4 am the next day) ....What a treat I was in for..... 66 yrs young & can still pick a mean guitar ....I've seen Ted prolly 10 or so times dating back to the Cat Scratch days ...was in the crowd at Abilene TX when he recorded Double Live Gonzo ...that was treat also ...

I be the first to admit that some of his shows Ive seen just lacked something .. oo yea , he always plays a mean guitar & great ole songs but just wasn't the sound of old .... ya know how it goes with bands that keep playing gigs threw the years ....everybody's old ...not the same energy ....Not on this night ....

He has a band that includes Derek St Holmes .....that man is so important to that band ..... it was the old sound .. the voice ..Derek's guitar ... and his energy & support for Uncle Ted ....they go together like peanut butter and jelly ... that band is tight

AND he has brand new knees !!!!! got both replaced last year .....no jumping from amps and his mobility isn't what it used to be ...but those fingers and attitude are workin just fine

And of course Imma huge Nuge fan so Im sure im biased but who can deny the groovy sound of cat scratch fever & storm troopin being played back to back .... I was in heaven

Sounds like you had a good time he has some new tunes coming out soon, I wonder if Dereck St Holmes is on the new CD. I saw Dereck and Uncle Ted together right around The Spirit Of The Wild tour, the times I saw Uncle Ted after that was without Dereck and he did his bow and arrow stchick, he is Far Better with Dereck St Holmes for sure just like two peas in a pod.

    Aerosmith
    Scorpions
    Journey
    Thin Lizzy
    and
AC/DC who pretty much stole the show for me.

I saw Ted open for KISS. He is very outspoken - kind way of putting it - but he has some very valid points and is a smart / talented guy IMO.

Since we're talkin Ted, I saw him in Seattle in 78. He was the headliner with Cheap Trick and AC/DC as the openers.

    It was an amazing show.
