I have had a few speakers here-n-there. Nothing like some here. But recently i had a pair of beautiful Boston Acoustics mint condition & the surrounds were gone. I sold them cheap cause i didnt want to mess with them. The guy i sold them to replaced the drivers with some aftermarket ones & resold them & probably lost money to boot. I told myself i coulda done that.... I usually dont mess with speakers that need work. But that package deal included them.. After selling them off i decided if i ever came across a clean pair of speakers i would change the surrounds & keepem stock. Just as a project. Mind you i have never done it as i would spend more to avoid it..... Well i was at local Goodwill & snagged a mint pair in box for 9.99 Pioneer -Promusic120 something-or-nother speakers LOL. They are almost mint & i just did the surrounds when i got home from work :) ok i know its nothing to most. But to me it was easy & interesting. Now the key thing is - will they work  & then if they do - what do i do with them

Very nice work, Randy. I'd never try anything like that myself for two reasons.

    1. I've never done it.

    2. I'm a perfectionist and if it wasn't the BEST refoam ever (looked better than the original), I'd obsess about whatever minute flaw it had for days on end and get depressed! lol

And here I thought you were gonna say you passed up something that you saw for sale! ;-)

Well done, Randy, they look to be pretty minty for their age. Hope the new surrounds work well. Do report on how they sound.

You might be better off if the new surrounds are way flawed - if they're "perfect", on the other hand, I can see a new and immediate need for another garage (heated)/storage room at your house.

You are correct^^^ I did them & let them set for 5/6hours. I just hooked it up to see if all the drivers worked properly. You are right-i should of let them set 24 hours. I didnt turn it up beyond 8-9:00 for a couple mins. Too much of a rush & should slow down
