    ^^^ what he said ^^^

There is also an SRS 2. and an SRS 1.2 (no TL) as well as a SRS 2.3 (again no TL).

The serial number you give would only be for the left. Those speakers are dedicated left and right for proper function and are not interchangeable from left to right. Awesome pair of speakers. They also need an interconnect cable to attach between the left and right channel cabinets for proper function. I am sure i am leaving out information thatmay help you in some way. maybe by the time several people chime in you will have pretty much complete info.

Now I'm curious Nooshinjohn; How can you tell they are 1.2's. Is it the serial #? If so where is the list located for reference?

1.2's have a wood panel on the side, the 2.3's do not. The 3.1's have a side wood panel as well, but they have two routed lines down the panel. The pictures provided clearly show a non-routed side wood panel.

HanEun- There should be a white rectangle on the back with the model info printed there. Close-up pictures of the tweeters will also help forum members to ID the model.

They are early TL's or late 1.2's...

I am still not clear on how one can tell they are 1.2's and not SRS. I own both the SRS and 1.2TL's and from the pictures provided it would appear these could be either SRS, 1.2's or 1.2TL's. The only outward appearnce difference between my SRS and 1.2TL's just by looking is the top or bottom end caps (the SRS are solid wood peices put together to make a single board. The 1.2TL's have laminated end caps. The only other visual difference is the label and SDA connector, neither of which is shown in the pictures above.

So that leads me back to my question; how can you tell from the information provided that they are not SRS? I dopn't doubt you are correct, i am just trying to learn more in setail for myself.

In going back and inspecting the pictures to try to see anything I may have missed, I notice that the speaker appears to be upside down. WTH.

I am basing my opinion on the serial number, and the end-caps you pointed out. They look to be walnut in color and it is my understanding that the SRS were oak. I have early 1.2TL's, so the numbers on these are too far back to be TL's(IMHO) and too recent to be the SRS. They are 1.2's

I assumed laying down with the styrofoam shipping form on the top. Looked more styrofoam than carpet to me.

I doubted myself until I went back to the first picture and looked closely. The badge is on the lower left hand corner.

After looking again and again. i notice that the badge is not nailed on as on my SRS. I cannot remember how it is attached on my 1.2TL's. However it is slightly crooked just like on each of my left hand cabinets. The badges on my right hand cabinets are both straight. The crooked badges slightly annoy me. when I refurbed my SRS I tried to straighten the left hand badge but the nails kept following their way back to the original holes. i didn;t want to shift them enough from their original location to make it work and I already had the new cloth on and didn't want to remove and redo it to fill the old holes and drill new ones.
