Clearview Golden Helix speaker cables

In my current system (see my signature below), I am using BetterCables speaker cables for my fronts and center. I am looking to upgrade those cables, but I don't want to have to sell my house to get some decent replacements. I have seen the Clearview Golden Helix cables for $120 for an 8ft. pair. Does anybody have any experience with these cables? I would appreciate any input that you guys could give me. Thanks. BTW, I am using a Monster Cable component video cable as interconnects between the receiver and the amp. (Hey, I was strapped for cash when I finished putting my system together.) Also, I was thinking about using Kimber Kable PBJ's as interconnects. Would they be a good match with my system?

Kimber PBJ's would be a good match for your system. I run their Hero IC's but only because I found them at a deep discount. Otherwise I would be running PBJ's myself.
For speaker wire you could also look at Kimber 4PR or 4VS for your setup. I run 8VS for my system and it is a good match and I am a fan.
I also have used Doug's cables (interconnect & speaker) and again they are close to my Kimbers."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
My first pair of 'good' speaker cables were the Clearview Golden Helix with Plus upgrade. At that time I was a cable agnostic, so I wanted to try something without spending a lot. Well, they worked quite well compared to the lamp cord they replaced. I still use them in my HT/surround system, and I ordered another pair for the rears, and one for the center.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Is your audio gear similar to mine? One concern that I have about the Golden Helix cables is that they appear to be thin. With my Parasound amp, I would like to have something at least 12 gauge. The cables that I have now are 11 gauge.Paradigm 11seMkIII mains, w/ Zu Audio jumpers

At the time, my gear was similar, maybe a step up. Sony XA-5400ES SACD, Cambridge-Audio 840E pre, Cambridge-Audio 840W amps (bridged mono), and PSB Synchrony One speakers. Yes, the cable is thin, but works well. When buying Home Depot stranded copper the bigger is better for gauge, but not necessarily so for speciality cables. It is also solid core.
My HT is Aerial Acoustics 7T in front, PSB Synchrony One in back, and PSB Synchrony One Center. The fronts are driven by the Cambridge 840W amps, the rears and center by Sunfire TGA-5400. Pre is Onkyo SC5509. Power is all Shunyata, and ICs are MIT Shotgun S1.3, and Clearview Golden Helix with Plus speaker cables.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

MAYBE A STEP ABOVE?? You have a flair for understatement!! Your first system was/is light years ahead of my gear. In fact, I went to audition a pair of PSB Image T5's when I picked up my amp. Your first system would be a dream system for me!! I would love to get a B&K Reference 200.5 and a SVS PC12 NSD. In time, I will!!! Thanks for the advice.Paradigm 11seMkIII mains, w/ Zu Audio jumpers

Why not get the PBJ's and some 4TC for the speaks? PBJ's are a heck of a value, and I could easily live with them.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I had ordered some new cables from Doug and they just shipped today, can't wait to get them as the picture he sent was awesome looking. you don't buy them for looks, but it sure doesn't hurt!
he sends you a picture and brochure for your cables I love how he does business!2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

Apparently I have either not learned how to spell the word "silver" or I secretly lust over Sharon Stone.

I've loved Sharon Stone since I saw her on a Pepsi commercial and she starred on a two part episode of Magnum P.I. -

I regularly see 4tc on Ebay for considerably less than retail. I have a 9ft.single length of 4tc just laying around. I would need 5ft. interconnects for amp and 8 ft. for my front three speakers. BTW, those cables from Doug look very, very nice!! It would be nice to hear from him to find out how much it would cost me for those lengths of interconnects and speaker cables. What about using the 9 ft. length of 4tc to make interconnects? Would that work, or would they be susceptible to magnetic interference from the other cables?Paradigm 11seMkIII mains, w/ Zu Audio jumpers
