Yea, thats right, I have a cold and sounds above about 5K are rolled off. This must be what hearing loss is like. It SUCKS but I will post a few observations.
After an hour or so of listening you start perceiving the rolloff as normal.
Songs sound like they are mixed quite differently than they are.
Overall sound causes you to really listen to the midrange and perceive it as more important.
Although after getting used to the sound after a while when you hear a known song you notice things missing.
On new unfamilliar songs you cannot tell anything is wrong.
LP's sound quieter.
Overall there is less definition.
Nothing is as enjoyable.
I couldn't tell the difference between my SDA's and a pair of bose cubes right now.
Most importantly, you don't want to end up with long term hearing loss if this is what it's like. Mine will go away after a week or so, yours won't if you are listening too loud!

Excellent Review!
Should be titled "Stuffed Snot Locker and it's Effect on THD!":D -
The SSL report...
I figured I would do a review this time because the ears did not pop or anything, it really came over me as an easy going slow roll off, which is what I believe hearing loss does.
This is the scary one:
"On new unfamilliar songs you cannot tell anything is wrong."
You could have losses over a long enough period and you would have no idea.

Maybe reversing phase on your ears would help. Try standing on your head, facing the *opposite* direction, and have a listen.
