CP is one of the most unique 'family' forums I've had the privilege of being part of...the karma threads are positive and infectious.

It has been awhile since I've kept the spirit going....

So - here is a CD I really enjoy and will gladly offer as karma.

Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour - "Larry and Lee"
1191788204_lr.jpg

It is categorized as 'smooth jazz', but it is just plain good guitar playing, and it sounds *really good*.

To be "in" - you gotta reply - 'smooth jazz ain't bad'

...Both those guys played with my favorite smooth jazz group of all time, the pioneers of smooth jazz, the legendary FOURPLAY! I saw them and Spyro Gyra live in Detroit a few years ago and Chuck Loeb has taken over the guitar spot.

Can always use more music and live concerts in my life!

Gotta steal this one from my man Trav, and ad that any sound emanating from a pan flute to the list of bad.

Smooth Jazz Ain't Bad...In fact, it's fantastic! Especially on some old Polks.

Great Karma, Erik, but not in since I just won a nice one offered up by Scotty - Earl Klugh CDs.

Good luck to all entrants - Larry and Lee are old faves.

Man you guys are too hard on Kenny G, LOL! I guess I can see how some may not like his later career stuff. However, I swear if you never heard him back when he went by his real name Kenny Gorelick, you must do so...totally different sound. I absolutely loved his playing with Jeff Lorber Fusion. Don't let his smooth jazz stuff fool you, Kenny can play the hell out the horn!

Sorry if I sent the thread too off track...but I guess I went back down memory lane. I really got into the 70's-80's jazz fusion stuff in the mid 80's in H.S. We used to play some JLF cuts at just about every performance or gig we ever did! man did I love playing that stuff...great drum grooves.
