Tinsley Ellis or George Thorogood

Due to the rising Mississippi, the Blues Fest will be moving from the river front to downtown where there is dry land, anyways wife won two passes to the fest so I'm debating if we should go tonight to see George Thorogood or see Tinsley Ellis tomorrow night, now I like George and all but Tinsley Ellis is a far better guitarist than George just cause the wife has A Bad To The Bone Ringtone on her cell does not mean we have to go see him I have a few hours to convince her we should go see Tinsley any of you have Any Ideas on how to convince her?

    I'm not going to be any help, go see GT. He puts on a better show and he Knighted me with his guitar years ago, so I'm actually Sir Jesse. :cool:

    Have to agree with Sir Jesse on this one. TE may be technically a better player but GT's showmanship is off the chain.

    While I love GT.... Tinsley Ellis would be a no brainer for me!

    I gave in to the wife's demands and we went and saw George last night, the stage was set up on the street as our riverfront was under several feet of water from the flood. Typical Thorogood show I think it's the 6th time seeing him a crowd pleaser for sure. The best part is we wiggled our way towards the stage after a few beers the wife got all chummy with a couple next to us who had three day passes and told us they won't be using the third day as they are going out of town. I offered to buy them the lady said no need they will be unused and gave them to us.

    So I get to see Tinsley Ellis tonight the wife don't want to go but my buddy does so it will be a other beer fueled night at the Blues Fest tonight seeing Tinsley Ellis whom I have never seen before got several CDs of his and expect a good show, funny how things work out two nights in a row for free!!!

    I saw Tinsley here in town at a very small club. I personally enjoyed the show a great deal. Have a great time... I'll be in Des Moines all day at the 80/35 Fest with Cake being the big draw for my day.

    Well hope you enjoyed yourself and did not get rained on, it rained here most of the day but let up once we left for the Blues fest and like you said and I expected Tinsley puts on a great show I would see him again. Hey have you ever been to Shag Mcnasties up in Mason City they have small intimate showings I don't know if it's still around as its been a good 6 or 7 years since I was their last.

    you sure about the Mason City thing? We had a Shagnasty's here in Cedar Falls/Waterloo. But yes closed now. It was never my thing though my band did paly there a couple of times.
    The 80/35 went well... the rain was over before noon. And Cake rocked... lots of music food and beer all day long.

    Shagnastys that was the place it was north of Waterloo towards Mason City a friend grew up in Mason City we would hang out there and see bands but I guess it was closer to Waterloo than Mason City his sister would drive so we could get our party mode on good to hear you had a good time seeing Cake.
