Totem Rainmakers in Mahogany

I've got a pair of Totem Rainmakers up for sale in very good condition. These are the Mahogany color and look gorgeous. The Rainmakers sound fantastic on good gear, and every review I've seen online is positive. The general consensus is that they sound way bigger than they look, are a VERY musical speaker and have imaging to die for. While they have surprisingly good bass for their size, they're not gonna shake your house.

I'd love to use these in a bedroom setup but can't really afford to build another system that I ultimately won't end up listening to much. I've decided instead to sell the Totems to pay for the crossover upgrade to my Magnepan 1.6QR.

I've got a couple photos, they are not quite as red as some of the pictures indicate, it's a very nice dark red color. I have the original box for these but it's pretty beat up and I'm not comfortable using it for shipping, so let's just say the original box is not included as I'll be shipping in a more solid enclosure that'll survive the trip.

$650 + shipping

Wow, no interest in the Totems? I kinda figured these would go quick, on to Audiogon I guess...

I would have bought these instead of the Lsim 703 that I got from TNHNDYMAN. But you said no shipping. Oh well, I love the 703s and Travis was great to deal with. Would've loved to try out a set of Rainmakers. Beautiful speakers and great price. GLWTS.

I was wondering how these Totems compare to those 703's. The woodwork on the Totems is just gorgeous.

I wanna play "Rainmaker" by Traffic on some Rainmakers! Have an amp now capable of 4 ohms, but would have to sell CDM 1NTs. What to do? What to do?

It's a good price. I really like the B&Ws, but always like to try new stuff. Was also thinking Dynaudio Exite X12 or X16 as well, but would cost a bit more. There is a sweet pair of Sonus Faber Liuto bookies on CL for 1,300. Gloss black and beautiful. I got to hear some Dynaudio Focus bookies at a local shop. 40w tube and a Project Debut TT with an Ortofon Red cartridge. Lordy, they sounded nice, but 1,400 a pair. Never heard Totem or Sonus Faber, but the PM1s blew me away. Cant drop 2,800 though.

I'd take Totem over B&W (except for the PM1) any day, every day.

    +1!

Why are these still here? A wonderful bookshelf in this price range. Not as much bass as the new Polks but excellent transparency, imaging and sound stage for such a "diminutive" box? Add a musical sub and you're DONE!

    GLWTS!

Maybe. The CDM 1NT is really good for HT as well. Music first however. I need to get a spl meter because the cdms will be getting 125 wpc and the totems 200 wpc

Rainmakers arrived today. Outstanding packing job Danny. My wife said thanks. The blankets you packed them will sop up the blood after she bludgeons me :). Beautiful speakers. Not much time with them yet, but the bass these little guys put out is astonishing. Will give a more holistic review in a few days. Thanks again Danny! Top notch!

FINALLY, this was a good deal--you're gonna love those Totems. Don't expect them to "dazzle" you right out of the gate, most really good speakers don't.
