In the 70's when they 1st came out Dahlquist 10s were known to be a high end quality speaker. A friend of mine did own a set and they were quite different than the usual walnut box or " monkey coffins " of the time. I think they are the 1st phased array mirror imaged speakers. Sound wise they were fantastic and did need an ample amplifier to push them. The wondering part of the equation is that rear mesh protecting the x-overs and what ever else is back there. Besides being the ugliest grill off speaker ever made w/ the AR 3a a close 2nd, that rear is the biggest dust collector I had ever seen. Could you cover/enclose that section or for whatever reason it needs open air ? Yes, now there is canned air to blow dust out but not back in the day.

    I believe it is for the same or similar reason the polk ( inthe RTA 12 series ) left the tweets " open air", not inclosed. Beter dispersion or at least diff dispersion. Jmho.

    I have a set of these in my bedroom closet that I'm storing for a friend. No stands though. I have thought about pulling them out and hooking them up to the Hafler 500 he gave me to see how they sounded. Any suggestions on stands?
