Onkyo DX-C390 VS C-7030

I just purchased an Onkyo DX-C390 CD changer which I am very happy with. I really wanted a changer with a good DAC and it apparently has a Wolfson WM8726 DAC. A lot of people rave about the Onkyo single disc C-7030 player that has a Wolfson WM8718. I found this website that lists Wolfson DAC's and since I am new to the audio world, my comprehension of the data is minimal. I'm curious in general how much better sound wise the Onkyo C-7030 single cd (Wolfson WM8718) is vs the Onkyo DX-C390 6 cd changer (Wolfson WM8726)? How is the cd changer able to be priced roughly the same as the single cd player?

Reading the reviews of the C-7030 (which many indicate is the best they've heard) gives me the feeling that if $180 fell from the sky, I should go out and buy it and then relegate the 6cd changer for parties.

If your happy with your cdp, why change ? If you want a changer....with wolfson dac chips, the sound signature will roughly be the same. As far as a sub 200 buck cdp being the "best they ever heard", then I'd suggest they get out more.

Dac chips are just part of the equation to what forms the final sound in any piece of gear. The industry promotes buzz words to drive sales though. Dac chips....hi-rez....4k resolution....Atmos...or terms like "giant killer", "best I've heard", "competes with others costing thousands more". Generally speaking....you get what you pay for like in all things. That's neither here nor there though because if you like what you hear regardless of price point, roll with it and enjoy your tunes.
