Need Help Hooking Up Sub

I have a prewired house that has a sub cable already run. It is a two pair shielded cable(Red/Black & Green/White speakers wires in this cable). I have a Sony ES5 tuner and I can't figure out how to hook up the connections to my sub... help!!

sorry my digital camera is dead and i can find the charger. Let me try to explain a little better. I have an Sony ES5 which has two sub woofer outs (rca jacks). I have a Polk PWS350 and I am trying to hook it up. The house came pre-wired with a cable that has two pair of sweaker wires. How can i go about hooking this up? what kind of adapters do i need?? any help is appreciated...

Seems like you have two speaker wire runs for the sub connection insted of a rca run, I am not sure of the sound quality but you can connect an rca patch on both ends like this..

I don't think the quality will be as good as a rca run, you might be prone to distortion and ground loops in this setup, but I think it's worth a try.

so you have speaker wire runs through your walla for a sub hookup? not an rca cable running through the walls?

yes... that is what i have. Strange huh? Well I gave in and just moved the sub close the head unit and used a regular sub cable. It looks ugly but at least i have some bass now.

speaker cables aren't shielded very well so you wouldnt want to use the prewired cable with an RCA jack or else you might get some hum and distortion (maybe even pick up a few radio signals!) Have you tried getting a regular sub cable, tying it to one end of the speaker cable and then pulling it through the wall?
