Im going to hit my local music store and stock up on them. Great music, and as said, the recording quality is surpriseingly good and dynamic.

I have both of these and enjoy them. Can you recommend other recordings by them?

Agree, the engineering and mastering is quite good.

"Big Notes" is a must have as well. As with all F&BB's discs they are recorded very very well, but this disc seems to be a step above the others I have. Very dynamic recording.

You can catch those guys as individual studio "house" musicians on the World Pacific Jazz or Pacific Jazz label recordings from the mid 60's to early 70's. Stuff like The George Duke recordings from back then (pre-Zappa).

The first Flim/BB's release was widely hailed as the recording of the century or the year, I don't remember that well. I know it was a little too perfect and predictable for me, with no spontaneity. Almost like a bridge between jazz and that smooth jazz crap. I tired of it pretty quickly, but they are excellent digital recordings.

Just picked up" tricycle" and the first cut is deff not predicable (LOL) when the drums kick in at the lower level passages made me jump several times! But they have a very diff sound and arrangments. Great deffinition in the instraments and fantastic drum passages. A verry nice. Change from the normal jazz offerings out there. I find them ratheer esoteric in a way they do the arrangments.not at all boring.some of the best " refferance material" ive heard in a while.

Haven't heard of them before. I will have to give them a listen. Thanks for the suggestion.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I used "Tricycle" to help tune car audio systems that I installed for myself and others. Great test for dynamics and midbass to upper subbass integration and tightness. This cut will bring a weak system to its knees....the speakers will break up and the midbass will sound boomy.

But on a good system.... your speakers will get up and dance. In fact its not kust flim but the DMP lable is all recorded like that. Pick up any Dmp lable music you can find, they will blow your mind.
