This will be the first Beck concert for me. I never listened to any of Beck's music before and I have to thank this forum for turning me on to him. I know I don't post much, I read a lot on here.

I picked up studio 2b's, found the polk forum, then the recommended Listening for SDA's. Sea change was awesome. I picked up 5 other beck CDs for cheap at my local Exchange. All are in regular rotation. Guerolito is ridiculous.

Anyone been to a live show?

Anyhow thanks to anyone who posted about him. I'm excited as hell about tomorrow.

ha ha... I saw him on the HORDE tour in 1997 at Tinley Park Chicago, and it was an awesome set.... about half the crowd booed him (I haven't a clue as to why) but he put on a fantastic show. I'll be interested to read how your experience is.

Beck is amazing. I would love to see him live! That being said I have heard mixed reviews on his live shows. Mainly because he sometimes doesnt care what the audience thinks and he does what he wants. Anyway I am sure it will be great! My fave album is Midnight Vultures, super funky and fun!

Well it's been a few days since the concert. Sean Lennon's, Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, band opened for Beck. I can say the music was okay but I'm not a fan of Sean.

Beck came out and had everyone standing and dancing from the start. The only time people seemed to stand around was when they did slower songs from Sea Change and Morning Phase.

The cool thing was all the people who recorded Sea Change is the band. Cleveland was the first date of the tour and it sounded like it. They definitely had some sound issues to sort out. There was a lot of feedback and some instruments louder or more pronounce than others.

To me the show was still awesome. He entertained the whole time. Danced his a$$ off, rock to rapping to the chill side of his music he put on a hell of a show. The only disappointment was after about 2 hours the show was over.

Just about the whole setlist was great. There were two songs I didn't know but still enjoyed. Really dig the songs from Guero and Sea Change. The records I don't have I'll try looking for.

Not one boo in the house. There was a wide variety of age there as well. I'd say 10-60 year olds. If he comes around and your a fan don't miss it.

Morning phase is the only one I own. I've been spinning that album quite a bit lately.

    Hope you enjoyed the show.

Thanks everyone. I've been to a lot of concerts and he really impressed. My wife loved the show as well.

txcostal1 it sucks when a band or act passes up your town. It seems to be happening a lot to Cleveland. Most just play Columbus. I drove to Detroit and back in a night to see a band. Left at 5 in the afternoon and got back at 1:30 in the morning. Fun show though.

Same Change and Morning Phase get a lot of play here as well.

The kids love dancing to Guero.
