R.I.P. Tom, always enjoyed your input at Stereo Review. Thanks for educating us in subwoofers etc.

Gotta love a guy that truly thought that you could never have too much bass capability built into your system, even though you rarely use it. Early adopter in the infinite baffle/open baffle speaker movement. I only hope he enjoyed teaching as much as I enjoyed learning from his teachings.......R.I.P. Tom

How very sad it is to hear of his passing. I learned a lot from reading his columns in Car Stereo Review / Stereo Review. He played a part in my DIY spirit in audio.
I remember attending one of the Southeastern Michigan Woofer and Tweeter Marching Society's annual autosound contests back in 1990. Tom was a member and was the first guy to walk up to me and shake my hand. He introduced me to the group, he let me listen to his car and the man just talked and talked about audio. Being young and a bit timid around a bunch of audio engineer types I was not going to enter my modest system in the contest but he encouraged me to do so. Unfortunately I had to leave early but, I will always remember him as such a nice guy and passionate about his craft. He even gave me his cards and encouraged me to call if I had more question and also encouraged me to join their group.
Tom actually lived in about 15 minutes from where I used to work in MI. So, many times I told myself I would get in contact with him to chat and maybe get a chance to listen to that massive bass system of his. I never got the chance before my job moved to Indiana in '12. I really wished I would have made that call or email.
