Samsung curved tv

I saw the ad on tv for this new set by Samsung. Has anyone been to a store that has one to check it out. It immediately reminded me of the early-mid 60s when CinemaScope was all the rage. The 1st big time movie I ever saw downtown on 42nd street was How the West Was Won. The buffalo stampede looked like they were coming right for you and if they would have had a THX system the thoundering herd would have scared the crap out of people. Some more were The 10 Commandments, Ben Hur and I think Cleopatra then it just went away. Back to the Samsung is there a techincal reason for this to try to envelop you in the tv experience or something else here? The ad it'self was very slick w/using movie stars in whatever roll they played in their own movies either refered to a curve or it was that beautiful. Example George Clooney says from Gravity something about the view can't get better or Amy Adams says show me your curve.

I've looked into it a little, but have yet to see an actual curved TV.

As mentioned in the article, it will make the sweet spot for viewing much smaller. Can't see them catching on for the average TV viewer for that reason. For instance, I usually watch seated in the center, but sometimes I like to lay on the couch, at that angle it would suck. -
I love the curves, and I see many on a daily basis. Samsung has a dozen more in the pipeline and IMHO they are just about the best there is out there today, especially if you go with the 4k models. The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. They do look sweet. I have been TV shopping the last few weeks and have had a couple in home demo's. Going to try a couple more more TV's before I decide.
It is very hard to find anything that beats my current Pioneer Kuro plasma. -
The Pioneer Kuro is probably the top of the mark in tv s , that baby will be hard to beat.

Loving the UN55f9000 4K and when we decide to place it in the bedroom, (which we will) the Curve 65 will be the new thing in our living room. Tophats off to Samsung. The BD-F7500 DVD player is no joke either. We have and love love that too!!"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!
