My 4 yr old just said..."Dad, what are you listening to?"

    I said, "Bob Dylan."

He said, "Bob Dylan...that's the guy's name?"

    I said, "Yep"

He said, "I like Bob Dylan."

Then he said, "Will you play Angry Birds with me?"

    I said, "Yep"

This will be the last Father's Day with both my boys - my oldest is off to college this Fall.

So, it is transition time for our family. Just finished with the last lunches to be made for both boys, Thursday was High School Graduation....time has flown - now it is time for the oldest to fly!

Mixed emotions about now - but life is about growth and change.

I will enjoy tomorrow with the family - I get to grill up a great meal, everyone will be home for the day, so I'll be stashing away those memories.

    Happy Father's Day to everyone!

My youngest daughter just finished her 3rd year teaching and come home to spend the weekend with me. We cooked fish, shrimp and corn on the grill last night and are going to lunch and a movie today.

Life has been hard for my wife and I the past couple years but it's times like this that make me appreciate it anyway. Grace drove 3 hours to be here with me this weekend. Just wish my other daughter could be here too but work precludes it for her.

Next year for me! You should be proud of her!

No celebrations for me. My wife is out of town, son in Chicago, and my daughter is buckling down for a tough Pre-Calc. Final Exam.

Dad may buy himself a pizza go outside and look at the part of the lawn no one can see (inside the fence) that he will NOT be mowing today!! I've been feeding a fat groundhog for the last week in there.

    Happy Father's Day guys!

He moved there last summer. I haven't been out to see his new place yet and I don't know Chicago that well. My wife has been there. All I know is that he's close to the end of the subway line and that you can also catch public transport to Northwestern U. where his girlfriend is a Grad Student. It's supposed to be a reasonably nice area? May get there late summer? Not sure yet.

Well, ring me up if you make it out this way. Maybe we can meet somewhere and occupy a few barstools for an hour or so. Just so you know, if your son needs anything, feel free to give me a yell. Sometimes it's tough being so far away.

Today is the day I live in fear of some child I have never seen before, and didn't know existed, knocking on my door and handing me a gift.
