IRS: Learners computer crashed, and we lost ALL of her emails.

Had enough yet? My fellow AMERICANS, something is very wrong here. There isn't sand deep enough to bury your head in on this new development. But I'm sure many will try.

Try that one with the IRS and see what it gets you.

...and let me guess, they have no back-up email server, and the HDD disk surface took "physical" damage, so IT can't be recovered either, right? I'm growing tired of being thought of as an idiot, and having my intelligence insulted repeatedly.

Okay. Thanks. Pretty stupid move if intentional. Maybe a kid can get away with this to their parents, but not in this case. At the worst, they just need to check emails in the other departments for any emails from her. I like the comparison to Nixon's 18 minute gap.

It can be recovered, and they need to subpoena the IT guys and get all the archives too... that will have all the deleted emails. Someone needs to call Bravo Sierra on this B@*ch and put her behind bars till she comes clean... No one will be willing to do time for the anointed one.

True...but you do realize Sox laws don't apply to them, right ? Nor does insider trading laws and a host of others. Who is going to hold them accountable ? The other side ? They are just as culpable in many instances.

Ever ask yourself why someone would spend millions and millions of dollars to obtain a 175k a year job ?

IMHO, congress should be a part-time job with a salary that reflects that. 401K's instead of monster pensions and a HC system that's the same as the peoples. Least of all, they should also abide by the same laws and have stiff automatic consequences if they don't.

Heard a good analogy the other day, won't say who it's from because that will just start a sh&t storm. Went something like this....

" There was a time when we LOVED people and USED things, today we LOVE things and USE people. Until we switch that back around, nothing changes".

You can bet that HDD is GONE. That leaves us with nothing but "accusation" and "shaming" of course it's impossible to shame anyone in todays society, because little integrity exists anymore. IOW, unless someone inside the IRS comes forward, and has physical evidence--Learner is OFF the hook.

This should scare everyone, regardless of political stance.

Close the IRS. Create a flat tax based on income, do away with all write-offs--and adjust tax rates to compensate for "common" write-offs. Automate the process so there are no annual tax forms. They get W2's already, this isn't rocket science--but it DOES step on the toes of special interest groups who use write-offs as leverage. Tax revenue would be collected automatically, so no more tax dead-beats (that we all pay for), and bye-bye to complicated tax forms every dreaded April.

This may go way beyond the usual reasons people hate the IRS.

Using the "non political" IRS to silence and hobble the fund-raising ability of your political opponents is incredible malfeasance.

Lois Learner pleading the 5th before congress was ugly and suspicious.

Reporting two years later that (surprise!) all of the e-mails that may incriminate you, that congress has been asking for, have been mysteriously and accidentally deleted is bizzarre.

This would seem to indicate that what was in those e-mails was far worse than the political and personal fallout from deleting or "losing" them.

That's the thing....the law requires hard copies but they are claiming they never did. Now, if your going to be accused of breaking the law, which offense would get you the least amount of concern ?

All I can say is when we finally can look back at this administration as a whole in say 10 years I have a feeling the overall sentiment will be a LOT different than it is now because we will finally have all the information they are currently hiding until after elections next year.

Latest news: The hard drive was thrown away. Shocking right?

See incompetence, while shameful, isn't a crime. So this has worked out well for everyone concerned, except the taxpayer.
