This sound good for a starter set for HT?

My brother is putting together a fairly inexpensive starter set. He has been able to pick up a pair of rt600i's (wanted the 800i's but couldn't get a seller to return his emails) for$70, and an cs350ls for $100. He is also getting the Denon x4000, and a Hsu vtf2-mk4 sub. Also picked up the Polk 620-rt (in ceiling) for the rears. The last three items r new. What do you guys think? He do ok?

Sounds like a nice first system. While there is always better...you can't beat the deal one can find on used gear. That is a very nice center...which IMO is crucial for a great experience.

Yeah I thought so too. I have the 600i's in a spare bedroom and liked them when I used to use them. I really wanted him to get the 800i's. He also had a cchance at the 1000i's but I wasn't sure what to think about the powered subs. Maybe it was fine, but sounded like something that could break and he would need to be repaired. In the end I think that he will be satisfied.
