Those Yammies look pretty good. I'm sure you could flip those easily. It's also obvious that you and I hear things differently. The NS-10s are way TOO BRIGHT for me to listen for more than 10 or 15 minutes whereas I could listen to the L20ts for hours and hours--and I think the JBLs sound better all around--no veil there, none. Subjectivity, I suppose. Some like it "bright".

L20t's are mellow sounding compared to NS-10M's so could be better for long term listening.
They are not veiled/recessed on their own but comparing back and forth, they do feel that way against the NS-10M's though.
If I just listen to L20t's for a while, they are fine.
That reminds me, I still need to listen to my NS-690's.
They are in the basement and I couldn't bring them up when my back started acting up.

If you find those JBLs mellow compared to NS-10Ms... yes, you seem to like a little aggressiveness in the upper MR/lower treble.
You might find my Altecs practically comatose relative to your tastes.
... and that's what kept, and still keeps, all of these speaker designers and manufacturers in business... and why those that focus too much on pefect perfomance based on objective measurement may have trouble movin' product out of the warehouse (my opinion, of course).
... as they say, de gustibus non est disputandum. Loudspeakers & phono cartridges are among the best examples when it comes to hifi. -
Well I sold the 10M's for fairly good price.
Still have the 1020 that I'm not using so not sure if I'll keep it.
JVC R-S77 is getting daily use with Polk M7's and CRS+ in the basement.
For some reason, I like JVC better.
