I could have sworn I read an article somewhere last month, it seems like around the same time when things were heating up between Ukraine and Russia. The story was about a report that a Russian fighter jet that flew over an U.S.N. Aegis war ship and some how knocked out all_ of the ship's electronics, leaving it's computerized weapons defenseless. Anybody else read of this???

That capability would've been tough to keep quiet, and all over the evening news. In every civilized country on earth.

Jammers have been around since the Wild Weasel F-4 Phantoms would go in before the 105s and jam and destroy the VC radar controlling the SAM sites. Now there are in the navy P-3 Orion sub hunters and recon, P-8 a jet that does the same but more advanced, Hawkeye a smaller version of the AWACS that is carrier launched. Air force still uses the U-2,AWACS, J-Star long range detection and jamming and a Hercules RC-130 the is used for phy ops, jamming and to call in the AC-130 gunships to blow the crap out of what they found. Other countries like England and France and Isreal all use version of U.S. recon, intell, and jammers mentioned. All U.S. fighters have friend or foe id and radars that tell them if they are being "painted" or tracked or when a missle is in the air to go to flares, chaff, evasive manuevers.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

No George, that would not be all over the news. Our government would not want to let us or other countries know about the vulnerability. Russians have been hinting about advanced weapons for a while know, and have basically said we have seen them in action, we just thought they were natural disasters/phenomenon. Knocking out the advanced systems in "our" "combat platforms" is very easy to do. Modern electronics do not stand up to EMP blasts, which is why Russians still use tubes in a lot of their military electronics, including those in their jet's electronic controls and other military vehicles.
